This image has a story to tell. Read and stay Blessed.
She has anointed My body beforehand for the burial.(Mark 14:8)
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.(Luke 10:42)
When I was a kid, this incident really touched my heart. I still remember how whenever I was alone, I use to imitate this. Being a woman, I totally understand Mary's Devotion and Love for Christ. I pray and I believe, the Lord would really speak a message to your heart today as you meditate on Word of God. Amen!
- As mentioned in John 12:1-8, we see great Love and Devotion which Mary poured out on Jesus.
- Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.(John 12:3)
- This passage serves a great message to us for Passion Week.
- Before we join and remember Christ's suffering, Let us think and meditate on this passage...
- Is our relationship with Christ like any of the below:
- where do we stand in Christ?
1. Like Mary.
- It is mentioned in the Bible that the oil was very costly.
- But Mary gave all that she had.
- She broke the jar so that it won't be used again.
- She loved Christ.
- The reason why she was so passionate about Christ is that she sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
- Jesus honors her by saying, "But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.(Luke 10:42)"
- INDEED, HER ACT CAN BE DESCRIBED AS BAPTISM OF LOVE.
2. Like Martha.
"Careful and troubled about many things:"
- Serving Christ but lack of trust.
3. Like Judas.
- When we read John 12, we can understand how Judas didn't get the whole point of Mary's Devotion.
- His eyes were fixed on MONEY and things we can buy from it.
- Apostle John describes him as a betrayer and a thief.
- He betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins.
- He betrayed Jesus with a kiss.
4. Like Multitude.
"Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead."
- Many times we don't go to church just to see Jesus.
- Our mind is ever on miracle and proof. We follow the crowd and not Jesus.
5. Like Chief Priest.
"But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus."
- Often we need to sacrifice on certain things and people to follow Christ. But do we really mean the WORD, "He must increase, but I must decrease.-John 3:30"
- Are we jealous of true Christians? Are we worried about His followers?
- While we partake Christ's suffering, while we join and remember the biggest trial ever on the Court of Pilate,
Let us revive our mind to Christ...
- Are we like Judas, Disciple of Christ yet betrays Him? OR
- Are we like Mary, Devotee of Christ yet His disciple.
- Are we like Judas, eyes ever fixed on money?
OR
- Are we ready to give our best to Christ, like Mary?
- Are we like Judas, betraying Jesus with the sign of Kiss?
OR
- Are we like Mary, repenting over our sins with a sign of kiss.
LET US PRAY TOGETHER,"Receive me in Repentance, O Lord, and in Your goodness accept me, a sinner."
